Using an iPad, Kyron Birdine, a junior at Arlington High School, tweeted a photo of the word YOLO ("you only live once") and a smiley face scribbled on the essay portion of the exam, along with this declaration: "I have the TAKS test to study for, not this unneeded craziness." He then tweeted the photo to the official twitter accounts for both the school district and the board of education.

School officials pulled Kyron out of class and called his mother and issued a punishment of four-day on-campus suspension for his tweet, which he was also forced to delete.

For the 13th straight season, Yankees star Alex Rodriguez's salary is tops in the Major Leagues. The injured third baseman is due to receive $29 million, and he's still recovering from surgery and not expected to play the first half of the season.

A-Rod will make more money this season than the entire Houston Astros team, whose entire payroll is only about $25 million.

It was bound to happen. A photo shot with an iPhone and edited with Instagram has made the front cover of The New York Times.

Sports photographer Nick Laham shot several portraits of the New York Yankees and one he shot of Alex Rodriguez got the front and center spot on Sunday's front page and was also licensed to Getty.

When photographers made the switch from film to digital, it was thought that they needed to skills to use Photoshop, but now, apparently all you need is your iPhone, an Instagram app and some skills to be a professional photographer.

A tattoo artist, disabled Iraq War veteran, and father of three in North Carolina, Ernesto Rodriguez, is under fire for tattoing his pitbull, Duchess. The incident drew attention after Rodriguez posted a (now removed) photo of Duchess’s tattoo on his Facebook page.  The tattoo is on five-month-old Duchess’s underbelly and Rodriguez claims the symbol is of her bloodline and meant to identify her.

The IRS has acknowledged that it wasted $60,000 of taxpayers' money to make Star Trek and Gilligan's Island parody training videos of no value.

The Star Trek clip, a corny but ambitious effort which runs six minutes, was produced in an IRS studio in 2010 for a training and leadership conference. It mentions tax issues, but there is no way to claim that there are lessons to be learned from the clip, which was reportedly shown in 400 locations.

In a statement, the IRS admitted that the video "is not reflective of overall IRS video efforts, which provide critical information to taxpayers and cost-effective employee training critical to running the nation's tax system" and promised "tough new standards for videos."
