In Massachusetts, lawmakers recently decided to extend the state's ban on happy hour.
Some restaurant and bar owners had worked to get the ban removed.
But bureaucrat regulators kept the ban in place, explaining that removing it would lead to over-consumption of booze and endanger public safety.
But Massachusetts isn’t the only place lawmakers are putting a damper on the fun.
More than 20 states have banned happy hour, restricting such things as giving away alcoholic drinks, reducing the price of booze, all-you-can-drink promotions and even selling a bigger drink for the same price as a smaller.
It’s amazing how many lawmakers seem to know what’s best for us – even though they don’t even know us.
