Randy Lemmon Equals Cheap Mulch!!! (Don’t Forget Our Total Backyard Makeover Contest Either!)

I’m not sure that it’s the best marketing slogan for Living Earth and CJM Soil Supermarkets, but this Saturday the name Randy Lemmon Equals Cheap Mulch!

Appropriately enough, on the heels of last week’s tip sheet about the email hoax regarding termites in mulch from Louisiana, how about a deal on mulch you certainly can’t pass up? But you have to do a little name-dropping to get the deal.

If you go to CJM Soil Supermarket (The Katy Freeway location only) this Sat. March 18, any time during normal business hours, you can get Texas Native Shredded Hardwood Mulch for $10 a cubic yard, if you mention my name. This is for bulk purchases only (No Bags!). So, if you have a pickup that can hold a cubic yard of mulch or more, you can get as many as you can haul away for $10 a cubic yard. The big HOWEVER in this, is that the deal is only good at the CJM location on I-10 (Between Barker Cypress & Hwy 6), and it’s only good for this Saturday.

CJM is the soil and mulch superstore for the Living Earth Technology Products. And if you paid close enough attention to my email tip discounting the email hoax, I did note that Living Technology is one of those mulch makers that use only Texas-based material. So, you can be assured of no Louisiana termites in this mulch. (He says with a wink!)

Just how good of a deal is this? (These are rough and/or rounded numbers so, please no math critics!) One cubic yard is roughly 27 cubic feet. The average bag of mulches contains 2-3 cubic feet of material. So, you are getting anywhere from 9-12 bags of mulch for only 10 bucks. Thus, if you need more than 20 bags of mulch, and you get 2 cubic yards for $20 this Saturday, that will save you an average of 40 smackers (give or take a few). You can usually get 3-4 bags of mulch for $10-12 at this time of the year, so you would need upwards of 20 bags to reach the equivalence of 2 cubic yards. It’s not just a good deal; it’s a GREAT DEAL! But it’s for one day only at one location of CJM on the Katy Freeway between Hwy. 6 and Barker Cypress.

I will be there myself from 1- 3 p.m. with our KPRC promotions team, and there’s going to be free lunch for everyone from 1-3 p.m. as well. Plus, you can get free KPRC goodies as well as copies of my new book. But the $10 deal on the mulch is all day long, despite what we said this past weekend on the GardenLine. Also, if you want to bring by some plant samples for me to look at, as we suggest from time to time when I say “you gotta get a pair of eyes on that”, there’s no time like this Saturday and Sunday.

Obviously, this Saturday I’m at CJM, but this Sunday. I will be at Maas Nursery in Seabrook from 1-3 p.m. as well. It’s a Sunday Book Signing for Maas Nursery which serves the Clear Lake, League City, Seabrook and Kema areas very nicely. The location is 5511 Toddville Rd. in Seabrook. Speaking of email chains, as the termite hoax proved to be… why is that only bad news gets forwarded en masse to our email friends and family? I have a great idea for the next couple of days, and it could give someone a chance at a $60,000 backyard makeover.
