Time now to check out the awesome video from the awesome XX for their song chained. A friend of mine once pointed out that in this day and age, alternative rock can be separated into two categories. Guys that shout, and chicks that whine. One of the awesome things about the XX is that they do neither of these things.. and it's a refreshing change to have a band lucky enough to have a record deal and an adoring public that isnt shouting or whining at you about what a pain in the ass their untold rockstar millions are. The XX have a dope whispery quality to them that you might think is something they cultivated on purpose... but it was actually the result of making demos in their parents garage late at night. They had to keep the volume down and were all like "shhhh we'll record it at full volume when we have time... and that is how their super minimalist non shouty or whiney sound was born.. it's the XX  It's chained.
