You Drink Beer Twice as Fast If You Drink It Out of a Glass With Curved Sides
According to a new study by the University of Bristol, bars should always serve beer in glasses with curved sides.
That's because people who drink beer out of curved-sided glasses drink TWICE as fast as people who drink out of glasses with straight sides.
--The researchers say it's because, when a glass has curved sides, people have a harder time judging where the halfway point is . . . and have more trouble telling how much they've had to drink.
But the phenomenon is specific to drinking alcohol . . . people who drank soda instead of beer drank at the same speed, regardless of the shape of their glass.
