The Lunar Rendezbrew is a homebrew awards ceremony and craft beer festival made up of beer clubs from around the state. The Bay Area Mashtronaughts, ShuttleCock Brewers, the Backyard Brew Crew are a few brew clubs on hand supplying their homebrewed beer for attendees to sample.

The event was held at the Bay Area Community Center in Sea Brook. (Just a stones throw from NASA) The event was hosted by the Bay Area Mashtronaughts (BAM). BAM is a beer brewing club based out of Clear Lake that knows how to throw a heck of a party.

Not only were there tons of free beer to be sampled but there were plenty of activities going on as well. Including a paper airplane contest which was quite hilarious, seeing all these NASA engineers construct airplanes out of paper was a sight to see. There was homemade soda contest and also the Bubba Beer Challenge.

I completely failed the Bubba Beer challenge. There were about 8 mass produced beers on the table that were unlabeled and I was to guess the beer brand. I had a hard time and didn’t get one correct. Oh well!!!
