We know the rodeo as the biggest festival in town, the grandest rodeo in the world and also, we know we can eat good BBQ there. But I like it best for how many people are helped by the millions of dollars this non-profit gives away as part of its scholarship programs. Every year, hundreds of young Texans get the opportunity to go to college or a trade school, paid for by the profits made during the big event. There are few organizations in town which help to break the cycle of poverty for so many. It's good food for thought as we talk about how much fun the show is, especially when one looks at what's going on backstage.
