A guman randomly firing from his pickup has killed one and injured five in Concho County.
The shooting spree began around 4:30am Sunday morning in Eden, Texas and covered multiple sights around Concho County. The spree ended when the suspect was killed in a shootout with police.
The suspect has not been identified but has been described as a 23-year-old man from North Carolina. Police found an AR-15 rifle in the truck as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
The woman killed has been identified as 41-year-old Alicia Torres, who was found shot to death near her car in Eola.
Around 15 minutes later Concho County Sheriff Richard Doane encountered the suspect and was wounded in an exchange of gunfire. The suspect was then shot and killed by a Texas Highway Patrol and Game Warden officer who came to the scene to assist Sheriff Doane.
Concho County is located about 250 miles southwest of Dallas.
