Arlington police are meeting with officials at Six Flags Over Texas after a woman fatally fell from the Texas Giant roller coaster.
A park spokesperson would not offer details on how the woman died, but witnesses claim she was not properly secured.
Six Flags Over Texas released a statement:
"We are deeply saddened to share that earlier this evening an adult woman died in the park while on the Texas Giant. Park medical staff and local paramedics responded immediately. Since the safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time."
The Texas Giant is a 14-story high wooden roller coaster that first opened in 1990. It underwent a 10-million dollar renovation to install steel-hybrid rails and re-opened in 2011.
